On Good Friday, we sang one of my favourites, and such a classic at church - which I was going to share with you all here anyway, but just wanted to let u know that we sang the crazy old-old school version, which I was not at all used to, and distracted me a bit. Its still super awesome though. And I realise I'm such an Anglican - i just can't deal with change, except unlike the old-folk, I can't deal with going back to the old, and they can't deal with coming into the new. Where will we ever meet? Jesus, hopefully is the answer!
When I survey, the wonderous cross
on which the Prince of Glory died;
my richest gain I count but loss,
and pour contempt on all my pride.
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
save in the death of Christ, my God;
all the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to his bloood.
See, from his head, his hands, his feet,
sorrow and love flow mingled down.
Did e'er such love and sorrow meet,
or thorns compose so rich a crown.
Were the whole realm of nature mine,
that were an offering far to small;
love so amazing, so divine,
demands my soul, my life my all.
Amen
