if anyone else touched me there...

Well today was a beautiful day off, as opposed to the ugly day off I had yesterday...
As some of you may know, for my 21st of Emma and all my Church buddies, I received a pamper package at a day-spa in the city, and today I went and finally had it as a sweet treat after the stress and pressure of uni life and exams etc.
I arrived at the place on York St (after doing a little shopping) at 11, where the lady knew my name as I walked in the door (always mildly freaky, but understandable) and got me to fill in a questionaire thingo - usual questions, name, address, allergies, are you pregnant - u know, the usual. heh :) and also I got to choose of the menu what I wanted for lunch... which was to come at the end, then a glass of water and into the room.
So basically - you strip down to your Reg Grundies and hop under the covers of the bed thing and wait for the girl to come in. First off was a body scrub, which was nice, and way easier than doing it yourself in the shower! Then a massage which was very relaxing!
Now I'm sure that water at the start is supposed to be thoughtful, but it became torture after about 2 hours when I was totally busting to go to the bathroom!!
So then there was the facial, which was tops - I think that was my favourite, and I should have gone to the bathroom earlier so I could have enjoyed it even more. But yeah, really nicely done - way more products than I probably have in my bathroom cleanser, scrub, toner, massage thing, serum thing, moisturiser (who am I kidding... I probably have more actually, but more than I would normally use in one go), but yeah - facial massage is surprisingly cool, and then like a head and hand massage too.
Then came the most rewarding part - bathroom break!!! Oh how I was waiting for that. And I didn't care one iota that some spiffy office lady saw me in a bath robe and slippers as I rushed into that bathroom, was sooo good. Just like those long car journeys where your parents keep driving past pit-stops until there is a nicer one (where they can get a 'real coffee'), when the truth of the matter is you'd pee on the side of the road if you really could. Am I going on a bout the pee a little too much?? Oh well.
Then back in all relaxed, both from all over body massages, and smelling and feeling all nice - as well as having an empty bladder for the pedicure. Nice pedicure too, longest and fanciest one I've had. There was your standard, soak, scrub, file, moisturise polish etc. But the weird but cool bit was the parafin wax. The girl (Vanessa) goes out and comes in with two plastic bags of hot wax. I'm mildly perplexed (she must have realised) and explains as she puts my foot into the bag (which doesn't burn thankfully) that its just like candle wax that you stick your finger in, but they use it to lock in the moisture from the moisturiser. Feels pretty unique sticking your foot into a bag of hot wax. If ever you get the chance to try it, give it a go. And then she pops these large style baby bootie things over the top (i'm assuming to keept he heat in). After a few mins they slip right off surprisingly easy, then the polish and all done. Out to the waiting room for a glass of rose tea (which I'm going to have to buy and try some more) and to dry off. Then downstairs to a nearby cafe for lunch (Ceasar Salad, Apple Juice and complimentary fruit plate) and my Sudoku puzzle and I'm done.
Off for a little shopping and dropping in on Claire at work, then home for, what should hopefully be an equally relaxing night.
Sorry for the long post - hope you enjoyed it :)
tell next time we meet again...

Really? Anyone at all?? Even if they're putting on scrubs or creams or something and not just annoying you by tickling them??

I must admit I'm a touchy feely kinda person though - and not only in the emotion kinda way, touch communicates, and is very very relaxing!
